Muscat Hills Resort is found about 35 minutes from Muscat International Airport. We have been trying to get into this resort for our last couple of Oman trips, but due to immense popularity, we have been out of luck till now. It was worth the wait!
The location of this resort is exceptional. The bungalows are located right on a private beach with the waters edge mear steps from your front door. We took full advantage of this waking each morning to do some snorkelling and shore fishing.
The accommodation is basic but very comfortable with air conditioning, a private patio and an outdoor shower. Breakfast was included in our rate, and a great spread was provided for us.
The restaurant offers exceptional food and beverage options coupled with a breathtaking view of the bay. The staff are attentive and we can only rave about the quality of our meals.
There are a surprising amount of fish species on view in the waters bordering the resort. While the visibility is poor compared to other locations, we still managed to have some great viewings. The shore fishing was also very enjoyable. We only brought our light tackle rods, but this proved to be all we needed.
We will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend that anyone visiting the Muscat area give this resort a visit.
